The Temper Trap - Sweet Disposition vs Chris Malinchak - So Good To Me (Secret Company Cover)

UPDATE (10/8/2016 7:19PM): Download link at the end has been removed.

So, if you recall last week I stumbled upon the mysterious 4 piece UK band Secret Company. Despite not having any music released online besides a one minute snippet in their Introduction video on YouTube, I was feeling very optimistic about their future as a band and their potential talent, and I put them on my mental list of bands to keep a close watch on. Well, I’m gonna take a moment to do a little celebratory happy dance because they released a cover video today and I WAS RIGHT!

What this cover tells me is that these four guys are going to do so well. Really, Secret Company is just dripping with potential. The way they blend elements of Chris Malinchak’s “So Good to Me” in with “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap is seamless and you can’t even tell that this isn’t just one song. The more electronic flavor of “So Good to Me” does translate well into the live instrumentation of “Sweet Disposition” so neither track feels forced into the other which holds a lot of promise I think for the structure and quality of their to be released original material. Performance wise, you can feel it in the way they play that they have a very strong cohesion as a group. The skill of each member is obviously there and they all mix very well as musicians. The ingredients for a strong band are all coming together in this video and I gotta say I’m pathetically excited about it. I’ve been diligently keeping up with them on Twitter and Facebook and Tumblr because let’s face it at this point I’m emotionally invested in the success of their band, and I honestly believe the future looks bright. Still waiting for some original stuff to break out into full on happy dance mode, but hey these guys have coming out of the gate pretty strong in my book so I’d say it’s only a matter of time before I’m dancing like an idiot through my kitchen (which happens much more often than I’d like to admit).

P.S. If you haven’t figured it out by now, free is my favorite word and you can download this mash up for free here!
