Tracks on Tap: July 6th (RÓSA and Like Pacific)
“Don’t Force It” by RÓSA
I think it is no secret that I am a sucker for a solid rhythm section; it is often the first thing that sticks out to me, and “Don’t Force It” does not pull any punches with this Summer jam. The bass carries through the track from start to finish, coaxing your body out to dance. Adding in this song’s strong drums and an 80’s style guitar riff, you have a song designed for good times. I discovered RÓSA completely on a whim while surfing through related artists on Spotify, and I am so glad I did. They have that perfect blend of modern style and 80′s inspiration that I gravitate towards. Plus, the singer has the BEST voice for this musical style. If you are a fan of Bad Suns or FM-84, RÓSA will be a treat for you. I promise!
“In Spite of Me” by Like Pacific
This song is for all of you former scene kids like me. I know that with Vans Warped Tour now embarking on its last ever US run, you are all probably remembering the days you’d listen to all pop punk all the time. This Like Pacific track will satisfy the nostalgia-induced craving for new pop punk music. Beyond the nostalgia this track fills me with, it’s just a really good song that has everything you’d want from a pop punk song. Expressive lyrics, pleading vocals, pounding drums, guitars on guitars. What more could you want?? Think A Day To Remember for the next generation. Like Pacific got me in my former emo feels with this one. Well played, my friends, well played.
